POLAROID TRANSFER WORKSHOP
Using a Polaroid Lab, attendees will have the opportunity to transform any digital image on their mobile device into physical Polaroids and to use those to make emulsion lifts (aka Polaroid Transfers). Your instructor Lindsay Metivier will provide guidance and tips regarding what types of images and editing techniques lead to the most successful emulsion lifts. Each attendee will leave the workshop with 3-5 of their own unique works.
This non-darkroom workshop focuses on the emulsion transfer technique using Polaroid i-Type Film. A Polaroid transfer image is when the emulsion layer is removed from a sheet of instant film. The thin piece of emulsion is then, in a few steps, transferred onto a different surface. In this class we will be transferring the emulsion on to watercolor paper. Class fee includes up to 3 Polaroids per person. Paper and brushes will be provided for workshop use. The workshop does not require any prior knowledge of image transfer techniques.
Extra Materials will be available for purchase after the workshop.
