Produced by the New Museum in New York City in partnership with ArtAsiaPacific magazine, Art Spaces Directory is a result of the Museum as Hub initiative, begun in 2006. Both a physical site and an expanding network of international art spaces, initiatives and artists, the Museum as Hub investigates the potential of experimentation and exchange through residencies, exhibitions and public programs. The directory is therefore seen as a way to engender and promote a wide network of independent, non-collecting art spaces. It forms an essential, detailed and informative guide for discovering autonomous, artist-initiated and other independent galleries and art collectives worldwide.
