Unrest at Lotsa Pop Losers Festival at DC Space, October 27, 1991. I was a very ardent fan of the band. I had gotten the Cherry Cherry single when it came out that previous spring and played it obsessively. My band Sleepyhead opened for them at this show which was at the tail end of a weekend of indie pop organized by several DC labels; Simple Machines, Teen-Beat (Mark from Unrest's label), and Slumberland. I only had a roll of film I think So I didn't take too many live band shots. However, Unrest was the last band so I emptied out my roll on them. I liked this image a lot, so I printed up a 5 by 7 and sent it to Mark. I never heard back from him, but a few months later I saw it at Pier Platters on the cover of the BPM record. I was a little surprised since no one had reached out to me to let me know. Then I realized I had probably sent it with unreadable had writing and no explanation. Of course I was happy to have it used, I just would have liked to have gotten a copy for free.
