ANGELA EASTMAN, THE ARTIST BEHIND FLAG MOUNTAIN STUDIO, DELIGHTS IN MATERIALITY AND HAS THE CONVICTION THAT SHARING THE PROCESS OF CRAFT CREATES MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS TO HISTORIES OF LABOR AND PLACE. WEAVING IS AN UNDERPINNING OF ALL THE WORK THAT SHE DOES, WHETHER IT IS MAKING BASKETS, JEWELRY, OR FURNITURE, AND LOVES THE LONG HISTORY OF CONNECTION TO PLACE THAT ACCOMPANIES THE CRAFT OF WEAVING.
SHE IS ALSO A FARMER AT ELYSIAN FIELDS FARM IN CEDAR GROVE, NC, AND HAS RECENTLY PLANTED A PLOT OF WILLOW THAT SHE WILL BE ABLE TO HARVEST FOR BASKETRY NEXT YEAR!
SHE CREATES SCULPTURAL AND INSTALLATION WORK! YOU CAN CHECK OUT MY ART PRACTICE AT WWW.FLAGMOUNTAIN.STUDIO
